Tips to get the most out of Usenet:

1) Read the message 'Welcome to Usenet', which is posted regularly in news.announce.newusers.  Then, find and read the documents that are listed in it, such as:

   What is Usenet?
   What is Usenet?  A second opinion.
   Rules for posting to Usenet
   Hints on writing style for Usenet
   A Primer on How to Work With the Usenet Community
   Emily Postnews Answers Your Questions on Netiquette

and many more.  These documents are also posted regularly in news.announce.newusers, as well as available at various file repositories on the internet.

2) Change your program to post only plain text, rather than HTML.

3) Post test messages to misc.test or alt.test, rather than a regular newsgroup, and MAKE THE SUBJECT UNIQUE, so you can easily find it.
