DialPC is an easy to use MS-DOS software tool, used to manipulate your modem, using a script file.  One common example of DialPC's use is to log onto your Internet Service Provider (ISP), exit without hanging up the phone, then hand the connection over to a packet driver.  It was written several years ago, as a replacement for the Chat dialer program found in the DOSPPP06 packet driver distribution, to provide capabilities that either weren't provided, or, not provided reliably, by Chat.  DialPC works fine with DOSPPPD, and simple instructions are included in the docs for that purpose.

DialPC is very stable, featuring a comprehensive and easy to understand script command set.  DialPC can optionally jump to any label in a script file, depending on any given string received from the ISP and/or modem.  This gives you flexibility to write a script file for situations where the ISP may send any one of several possible login prompts.  DialPC can be cancelled easily by the user, if necessary (just press Escape), and returns comprehensive Errorlevels to allow maximum flexibility in your batch program.  DialPC also features the ability to set a delay before it dials the phone.  This is handy for situations where your ISP's phone line is busy, and you want DialPC to repetitively try dialing at reasonable intervals until the connection is made.  Once it connects, DialPC will play some music, to alert you in case you have shifted your attention elsewhere.

DialPC can connect at any DTE speed up to 115200 bps, and can use most serial communications ports.  It works fine with most any IBM PC compatible computer, from 8088 cpu's up to the latest Pentiums.  It can even work in a DOS window under Windows 98.  To get the latest version of DialPC, click here.
